Mega Bodega is now open. The coffee shop also serves craft beer and a short list of food including toasts, sandwiches and a cheese plate. It’s a bright and airy space with a patio. It’s on the corner of Olympic and Broadway, just a stone’s throw from the Ace Hotel.
There’s avocado toast on the menu (of course there is) but I was more interested in trying a sandwich.
The sorta torta would be ideal for vegetarians as it uses soyrizo instead of chorizo. It looks good with red onion and avocado.
I had the pastrami melt though I really thought about the ham and cheese or turkey with avocado. I discovered the toasted bread was really buttery which led me to eating it all including the crust. I also had a kombucha– you know, for balance.
I’m going back with coffee and beer loving friends next time. I feel like those two things are the big part of the Mega Bodega experience. I dabble in both but not enough to call myself a nerd for either.
I do know for sure though I like the space so I might just pop back for a latter soon.
